Most of what I make outside work is small, physical, and solves a problem I actually had. The joystick is the one that got a full write-up.
A joystick, throttle and button panel for PC flight simulators. Hall-effect sensors read pitch and roll off a pair of magnets, an Arduino Micro presents it to the PC as a game controller, and every structural part comes off an FDM printer.
The constraint was cost: anyone with a printer and some soldering practice should be able to build one.
